Christina Applegate leans on TV mom Katey Sagal at Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony 1 year after MS diagnosis

Christina Applegate she was honored for her talent and bravery when she picked up her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Applegate, also known for the Anchorman movies and television jesse Y I stay up all night to name a few, he joked during his speech and did not directly mention central nervous system disease. Applegate also suggested, as he’s previously hinted, that he’s done with acting as he navigates his health challenges. While thanking the stars who spoke on her behalf, she said, “I like that I started with you two, referring to Married with children‘s Sagal and David Faustino — “and I’m done with you two” — pointing dead to me co-star Linda Cardellini and showrunner Liz Feldman —and I thank you very much from the bottom of my heart. You are my people.” (Applegate has previously said that she would like to continue producing, but she I can’t do long days on set.)

Applegate said that growing up in Los Angeles and beginning her career in show business as a child, she always wanted to have her own star. Feldman praised her as a “comedic genius and one of the best actors of her generation.”

Sagal, who Applegate still calls “Mom,” revealed herself, speaking of Applegate’s grace and courage in overcoming her challenges, including a breast cancer diagnosis in 2008.

“You know, honey, some of us come into this life that require broad shoulders because what’s coming our way needs support to bear it,” Sagal said. “Wide enough to contain what comes up. I’ve seen you: the ups and downs, the love and the enormous success, along with extreme challenges. But you came in with those shoulders, and you bear the weight and you bend and you don’t.” Don’t break. I still love you, laughing with you and learning from you. … You’re not alone. We are all here. We love you “.

Applegate was sitting next to her star, which is next to those of Sagal and Married dad Ed O’Neill, who was unable to attend, as he revealed himself, playfully doing a little seated dance with his new cane that she shared a preview of on Twitter last month. She later crouched down for photos: solo shots and photos with her co-stars, past and present, and husband and daughter.

Applegate expressed nervousness before attending the eventwhich was supposed to take place in 2020 but was delayed by the pandemic.

“Now my life is a different story,” said the actress. Variety earlier this month. “People are going to see me for the first time as a disabled person, and it’s very difficult. So for me, two years ago would have been much better!” He has spoken about his 40-pound weight gain per New York Times, saying, “I want people to know that I’m well aware of all of that.”

Applegate also spoke about his health, saying production was halted on dead to me for five months last year after his diagnosis. When he returned to the set, he needed a wheelchair to get to the set.
